9/11 Movie Confuffle

Universal Studios has been spending a lot of time and effort making a movie depicting the events that unfolded on Flight 93 which crashed into a field in Pennsylvania. The studio anticipated that the movie raise a few eye brows and were very careful to make sure that nothing in it was offensive to the victim's family. The stadium worked closely with the families and made sure to be sensitive to any concerns they had with the movie.

So far so good. It looked like the movie would be going ahead and be a great success. Until a bunch of New Yorkers stated to complain that they weren't completely alright with the movie. Now, I don't mean to be insensitive, but does it really involve them? Sure, New York was effected on 9/11, but hey, Canada was effected by WWII but I wasn't offended at all by all those war movies that take place over in Europe. The movie is not about the attacks on the World Trade Center, but about the plane which crashed in Pennsylvania. If the family's of the people on the plane are all right with the movie, what could the people in New York possibly be offended by?

Being offended by somethin' is now the new national pastime. Use the wrong slang term, ask an un-P.C. question, call a flight attendant a stewardess...whatever.

Now, if you combine the warm fuzzy feeling of being offended with the tingly self-righteousness of being a victim; now you're really onto something! Hell, you combine those two heady trips and you may feel empowered to breeze right by a metal detector at a security check point and then punch a cop in the face with your cell phone.

sorry for the rant. I forgot my meds today and I've been watchin' too much FOX News.

I dig your blog. I added a link from my new forum, politics.looptard.com
maybe we can trade.

keep up the good work,

Well said Mark. I appreciate the link.

But yeah, I completely agree with you about the whole politically correct thing. There's so many ways to offend somebody, it's scary to speak in public because you could offend like a hundred people without even knowing you've done anything wrong. It's gone way too far.

That last comment was...totally pointless. Anywho, i don't quite understand why stewardess is bad, but
"I'll burn your fuckin house down, circle around
and hit the hydrant, so you can't put your burning furniture out" -Eminem
is allowed to be sold, and this man makes millions on this crap. Maybe i should record a song about killing stewardesses...i mean, flight attendants.
