A popular contact lens solution, Renu, has been linked to causing an eye infection in over 109 people in the U.S. in a fairly small time period. Eight of those people needed corneal transplants to stop them from going blind.Bausch & Lomb, the company which makes Renu, stopped shipment of all their products when this was brought to their attention. Apparently it was just a problem with a batch of the solution made in one of their factories in the states, so any of you Canadians who use the stuff, don't worry.
The irony here is that eye doctors are always telling people with contacts that if they don't use solution regularly on their contacts, it could damage their vision... and now only the people who listened are going blind. Suckers.
